LVDH Tasting November 22nd

Join us Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM as we pour wines from The Fableist wine company and Les Fosses D’Hareng. Cheers!

Inspired by the Silkworm and the Spider
On the label: When time spins swiftly and the temptation to rush arises, heed The Fableist’s warning: quick and shoddy work begets little praise, while time spent in pursuit of quality and craftsmanship endures and delights.

Bold, fresh cranberries and raspberries float on your palate, brought back to earth by gentle nutmeg, clove and just a hint of mushroom. Brings you back to days spent basking in the Central Coast sunlight.

Inspired by The Snake, The Eagle and The Farmer
On the label: Life’s road may wind unfairly, and serpents may lie in wait for do-gooders and villains alike, but The Fableist believes good deeds deserve reward and will always offer grateful grapes to worthy wanderers.

Back from the dead, the Merlot has a classic claret character. Black tea, northland blueberries and wet concrete. The silky texture slides gracefully across the palate leaving behind hints of sweet plums, warm cedar planks, and freshly ground spices. As the wine glides toward the finish, you’re grateful for friends and excited for the future.

Inspired by the Scorpion and the Frog
On the label: Just as the scorpion told the frog it would not sting, we had vowed to avoid Paso’s precious Zin. In the end, though, The Fableist resides in Paso Robles, and Paso Robles winemakers craft Zinfandel.

Black cherry and cinnamon on the nose with images of sugar plum fairies dancing through your head. Hints of black tea and plum skin as you take your first sip, leaving you grateful for Paso’s precious Zin.

Inspired by the Ant and the Cicada
On the label: Now accept the gift of the Fableist, which has been toiled and moiled over in an attempt to give both weary ants and shiftless cicadas peace of mind, and a belly full of warmth.

Vibrant black currant, cedar and vanilla hit your tongue, as you’re warmed by the comforts blackberries and cherries. A strong finish wraps you in a fond embrace.

The vineyards are located on east-west-facing slopes at the bottom of a small valley near the city of Tours in the Loire Valley, 150 miles west of Paris. Sandy-clay soil with a large amount of siliceous pebbles above and below the surface. The sand-clay silt overlays a limestone bedrock.

Straw yellow. This slightly sweet wine has a complex, attractive bouquet of ripe pears and blackberries, with hints of peach, pineapple and litchi. It is soft, easy to drink, well balanced and expressive. An aftertaste with a touch of acidity enhances the fresh notes.
